You return to Singapore in October 1822. You are horrified by how Farquhar had "developed" Singapore.
Farquhar had faced many problems in Singapore:
- diseases
- food shortages
- Lack of defence
- Social unrest
- Singapore was not known to many traders
Farquhar tried his best to run Singapore. But you do not like what you see. You are shocked that he allowed gambling. Gambling ruins lives. Gambling is wrong!
You sack Farquhar, shut down the gambling dens and, with the help of Lieutenant Philip Jackson, designed the Singapore Town Plan.
The plan is also known as "The Jackson Plan".
You will be remembered long after your lifetime. There will be statues of you. Elite schools in Singapore will be named after you. You will forever be remembered as the Founder of Modern Singapore.
