Explain why the Japanese attacked the Asia Pacific region in 1941. (Student's answer)

Japan needed resources and supplies to survive the next few years as America had increase the import taxes from Japan to America making it difficult for Japan to cope survive the next few years. Japan had to expand to the neighbouring countries. Hence, they decided to first take over and Korea to harbor its necessary resources. They then moved to expand to China. They succeeded in taking over Manchuria which they also harboured the resources for operating their machineries. After this, Japan planned to expand even further and wanted to take over South East Asia region. In order to do that, Japan had to attack the island in Hawaii known as Pearl Harbour. There were many USA troops at Pearl Harbour watching over the Southeast Asian countries. Therefore, in order for Japan to expand further, they decided to attack Pearl Harbour, After successfully raiding Pearl Harbour, they expanded to take over the Southeast Asian countries. Countries such as Singapore, Malaya, Thailand were all taken by force by the Japanese and forced in to labour. After the attack in Pearl Harbour, USA had decided top retaliate and wage war on Japan as well, They manufactured half the amount of weapons that the entire world combined produced and fought the Japanese. During this time, Germany was also fighting against the USA. USA was a superpower country therefore, they naturally could fight multiple wars at the same time.
