Anschluss: Annexation of Austria into Germany on 13 March 1938

Czechoslovakia, invasion of: Germany's occupation of Czechoslovakia began in 1938 with the occupation of Sudetenland. 

Munich Agreement: An agreement signed on reached in Munich on 30 September 1938, by Nazi Germany, Great Britain, the French Republic, and Fascist Italy. The agreement provided for the German annexation of part of Czechoslovakia called the Sudetenland,

Nazi-Soviet Pact: A pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in 1939. The pact pledged that both countries would not attack each other and a secret protocol shared Central and Eastern Europe between them.

Plebiscite (in the Saar region): Referendum held in the territory of the Saar Basin on 13 January 1935 in which over 90% of voters opted for reunification with Germany.

Poland, invasion of: Nazi Germany invaded Poland on 1 September 1939. This triggered World War II.
