In a school that I taught in, a bizarre policy was to get the prefects to stand in a defensive formation outside the canteen to prevent students from going to the classrooms during recess.
I really felt sorry for the prefects.
Occasionally, some naughty kids would challenge the formation by charging through it.
It was so incredible that there were a few times I thought of taking a photo of this formation to share with my friends in other schools, but I didn’t. So I can only rely on my memory in describing this formation.
I think the person who approved this idea had good intentions, but which such a policy might not be the best sales pitch for membership in the student council.
